Philadelphia Flyers Take Down The New York Islanders 6-to-1
Last night, the Philadelphia Flyers hosted the New York Islanders at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly. In this Atlantic division match up, the Flyers quickly got on to the right start, and began piling up the goals on the power play.
Walking away with the 6-to-1 win, puts the Flyers above .500 and gets the team back on track for a good season. Who else is looking forward to catching the next game?
Also, on a side note, Danny Briere's last minute spazz may cost him a suspension for a cross check to Frans Nielsen. Read more: http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=339418

Flyers Smash Toronto Maples Leafs 5-2 At Home
This is by far my favorite little rivalry to watch. The Toronto Maple Leafs had their asses handed to them on Saturday night at the hands of the Broad Street Bullies.

Flyers Shamed At Home In 5-1 Loss To Pittsburgh Penguins
The Philadelphia Flyers were the first to strike Saturday night, hosting the penguins. Danny Briere roofed the puck over a sprawling Brent Johnson. After that, it was all Penguins.
Sidney Crosby scored two power play goals as the Penguins marched through the Wells Fargo Center and took advantage of the Flyers for taking too many penalties. Having to defend two 5-on-3 scenarios is always costly, for any team, but this was a lopsided loss which will no doubt lead to some serious adjustments.
The Battle for Pennsylvania series is now tied at 1-to-1 out of 6.

Time Changed For Saturday's Contest Between The Flyers & Penguins

This will be the second match up between these two teams this season. The Flyers currently lead the season series 1-0 and look to build on their lead as the Penguins continue their ugly start.
Flyers To Honor Simon Gagne's Return As They Host The Lightning

The Philadelphia Flyers will honor former team-mate and long tenured Flyer Simon Gagne when he return to Philadelphia on Thursday night. The Flyers look to build a win streak as they greet the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Long time Flyers great Simon Gagne was originally drafted by Philadelphia back in 2000. Since then, he has gone on to have many accomplishments, including multiple 40+ goal seasons and playing along side some of the game's greats including Peter Forsberg and Keith Primeau.
Personally, I will never forget how Simon Gagne's return during the 2009-2010 playoff series against the Boston Bruins began one of the most epic comebacks in sports history!

Flyers Make History During Inspiration 2009-2010 Play Off Run
Let's take a look back, as we move forward through the season, to the magic made last year by an exception Flyers team which had a tremendous post season run.
From the story of Simon Gagne's triumphant return to make history trailing 0-3 in the the Boston series, to Danny Briere's amazing play off performance, capturing the most points and Mike Richards' short-handed goal against the Montreal Canadiens.
We came so close, but now it's time to re-focus. New team, new season, same goal. The Stanley Cup!
