Flyer's Richards, Pronger Win Gold With Team Canada At 2010 Olympics

In a thrilling Over-Time win, which saw Flyer's fans most hated rival Sidney Crosby score the game winner, the Canadian Men's Hockey team accomplished what they set out to do, win the gold medal at the Olympics.

Chris Pronger logged 24 mins of ice-time in the game, where he was relied upon more heavily then any other previous game in the men's final. Flyer's captain Mike Richards tallied an important assist on the game's first goal by Johnathan Toews while playing a prominent role on a very skilled line of all captains (Rick Nash of Columbus, and Johnathan Toews of Chicago).

It is very exciting to see Team Canada achieve Olympic gold victory in ice hockey for the first time on home soil. Pronger, served as an alternate captain for Team Canada as he brings the veteran experience of winning a gold medal prior to the 2010 games.

Richards, a new comer to Team Canada's Olypic roster, had a modest --- pts, goals and - assists. More importantly, Mike Richards did exactly what he was brought on the team to do, play a hard-nosed physically competitive game, win puck battles, draws and kill penalties.

After much criticism of the young forward's placement on the team, he definitely proved his worth, which made this Flyer's fan very proud to be a fan and a Canadian.

in the mean time Mike Richards made the Team Canada roster, and I predict that he scores the game winning goal against the Americans in the gold medal game! Let's go Richie!!!!
