Flyers Fall To The Calgary Flames In 3 to 2 Shootout Loss [11-26-10]

Chris Pronger was NOT happy that Mike Richards goal was over-turned by the referee's in overtime. Mike Richards appeared to score the game winner in OT with a wicked slapper from the top of the circle.

However, the refs immediately waived off the goal, which seemed legitimate, to call Chris Pronger with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, which lead to a shoot out decision, where Calgary managed to walk away with the valuable 2 points.

Flyers Fan Tribute Video - "Definition of a Team"

After the shut out loss to the Habs, I had to find something positive to post. So here is a cool Flyers fan tribute video made by a member/user of YouTube. Enjoy.

Carey Price & Habs Shut Out The Philadelphia Flyers - 11-16-10

The Flyers had been hot lately, actually they had been REALLY hot, with a 9-0-1 record in the last 10 games played. But something was definitely different tonight. Coming off a game just last night, against the Ottawa Senators, winning 5-1 at home - the Philadelphia Flyers quickly got on the road to Montreal.

Carey Price greeted the leagues hottest team (arguably) by slamming the door shut. Carey Price's shut out led the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-0 victory over the Flyers, who were penalized 15 times to the Habs 10 penalties.

Either way, 15 penalties is needless. The Philadelphia Flyers are going to have to go back to playing disciplined hockey if they expect to earn the W for next game.

Mike Richards' Tremendous Efforts Lead To Feature Article On TSN.ca

Mike Richards is my hero. No, seriously. This guy is the definition of a true team player. He is as clutch of a captain as you can have, on any team, at any time, period.

After watching the man put forth a tremendous effort, year after year, and of course he is not the only one, as others also follow his example. It's cool when you cheer for a team like the Flyers, and a favorite player like Mike Richards, and then they finally get recognized for their efforts.

The Bully On Broad Street Blog would like to announce our support in hoping that Ray Emery does make it back in to the NHL some day, and hopefully playing very well for the Flyers sometime in the future.

Claude Giroux Signs 3-Year Extension With The Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers have made perhaps one of the clubs most significant signings in recent years. Drafted 22nd overall, in the first round of the 2006 NHL entry draft, Claude Giroux has quickly grown to be a forced to be reckoned with out on the ice.

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced today that they have just signed forward Claude Giroux to a 3 year extension in a deal which keeps the forward part of the Organization for the immediate and short term future.

As one of the team's key core role players, Claude Giroux is a talented shootout specialist, that scores nice goals and makes beautiful passes. He plays on the Power Play and shorthanded on the Penalty Kill. All in all, good sign, no doubt!
